Responsibilities

You will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, training, and deploying machine learning models within the company and in cooperation with semiconductor industry partners. You will work closely with Solid State AI’s founder and CEO, but should also be able to work independently and manage a team.

You should have superb technical skills, including a strong math & physics background and considerable programming experience. You should be comfortable evaluating machine learning literature, learn new methods and tools quickly, and be adept at applying this knowledge to solve practical problems.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • PhD or MSc in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering Physics, or similar

  • Familiarity with process engineering, device design, and testing

  • Experience fabricating devices using conventional fab tools including photolithography, chemical vapor deposition, sputtering, evaporators, reactive ion etching, wet etch, etc.

  • Experience with machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, Pytorch, Caffe, Scikit-Learn)

  • Strong technical/quantitative skills and understanding of machine learning statistical modeling

  • Familiarity with a range of machine learning techniques (convolutional and recurrent deep neural networks, support vector machines, clustering methods, decision trees, natural language processing, etc.)

  • Interest and working knowledge of quantum computing.

Responsibilities

 

You will play a key role in leading Solid State AI’s research and development efforts. Specifically, you will be responsible for designing and executing experiments to solve quantum chemistry problems relevant to the semiconductor industry. You will use reinforcement learning and other methods to determine the energy potential of semiconductor surfaces with the aim of discovering new material interactions.

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • PhD or MSc in Physics, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar

  • Familiarity with process engineering, device design, and testing

  • Experience designing and executing experiments for instrument characterization and calibration

  • Experience with machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, Pytorch, Caffe, Scikit-Learn)

  • Strong technical/quantitative skills and understanding of machine learning statistical modeling

  • Familiarity with a range of machine learning techniques (convolutional and recurrent deep neural networks, support vector machines, clustering methods, decision trees, natural language processing, etc.)

  • Standard microscopy techniques, XRD, PL, and other thin film characterization techniques

  • Understanding of thin film deposition & growths, including experience with relevant equipment

  • Interest and working knowledge of quantum computing.

You will be responsible for developing a production-grade, enterprise software product around Solid State AI’s proprietary algorithms. You will work closely with Solid State AI’s Head of Product and have the opportunity to design everything from system architecture to UX.

We are less interested in what tools, languages or frameworks you know, and more interested in how smart you are and what you’ve accomplished.

  • Degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or similar

  • Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining novel software products and solutions

  • Interest and working knowledge of machine learning and quantum computing.
